Effective Date: January 2, 2026
Colorimetry Research respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the CRI App for Android (the "App"), developed and provided by Colorimetry Research, Inc. ("Colorimetry Research," "we," "us," or "our"), handles information when used on an Android device.
Information We Collect
The App does not collect, transmit, sell, share, or store personal information about its users on Colorimetry Research servers or third-party servers.
The App does not require users to create an account or provide personal information in order to use its primary functionality.
USB Access and Colorimetry Research Instruments
The App is designed to communicate directly with compatible Colorimetry Research measurement instruments through the USB connection of an Android device.
When a compatible Colorimetry Research instrument is connected, the App may access technical information necessary to establish and maintain communication with the instrument. This may include information such as:
- USB device identification information;
- instrument model or device information;
- instrument status information; and
- measurement data returned by the connected instrument.
This information is accessed solely for the purpose of operating the App and communicating with the connected Colorimetry Research instrument.
Information received from the connected instrument is processed locally on the Android device and is not transmitted to Colorimetry Research or to third parties.
USB access is only used when necessary to identify or communicate with a compatible connected instrument. Android may request the user's permission before allowing the App to access the USB device.
Personal and Sensitive User Data
The App does not collect or transmit personal or sensitive user information, including, but not limited to:
- Name;
- Email address;
- Telephone number;
- Mailing address;
- Account credentials;
- Contacts;
- Photos or videos;
- Precise location;
- Financial information; or
- Advertising identifiers.
Analytics and Advertising
The App does not use user information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or marketing purposes.
The App does not sell user information to third parties.
Data Sharing
Colorimetry Research does not share personal or sensitive user information obtained through the App with third parties because the App does not collect such information.
Communication between the App and a connected Colorimetry Research instrument occurs locally through the Android device's USB interface.
Data Retention
Colorimetry Research does not retain personal or sensitive user information from the App on its servers.
Because the App does not collect or retain personal user information, there is no personal user data maintained by Colorimetry Research that requires a user deletion request.
Security
The App is designed so that communication with compatible Colorimetry Research instruments occurs locally on the user's Android device.
Colorimetry Research takes reasonable measures to ensure that the App performs its intended function without unnecessarily collecting or transmitting user information.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.
Because the App does not collect personal information, it does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information belonging to children.
Third-Party Services
The App does not provide personal information to third parties for advertising, analytics, profiling, or other unrelated purposes.
If future versions of the App introduce third-party services that collect or transmit user information, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
Colorimetry Research may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, applicable requirements, or our privacy practices. Any changes will be posted on this page together with an updated effective date.
